Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is well-known for her stellar performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her movie Piano earned her an Oscar. The talented actress began her acting career on the stage by performing in a myriad of Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. The actress has had a passion for acting from the time she started school. Her debut role in a play in fifth grade was in Helen Keller. Mumps made her lose her hearing in one of her ear, however this was not enough to stop the actress from fulfilling her dream. The college she attended was drama after which she moved to Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her dreams. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and they worked together to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart the first movie Hunter made. Hunter moved from New York to Los Angeles and tried to get film parts. In Swing Shift, she landed a role as a support. Since then, she has appeared in several movies, television shows and movies over the course of a 30-year career. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame celebrity and she has won Women in Film Lucy Award.
