Dua Lipa is an English musician and singer who was who was born in London United Kingdom on August 22nd, 1995. The singer-songwriter signed to Warner Bros Records in 2014 after she was an actress and then launched her self-titled debut album in 2017. The album peaked at the number three spot at the top of the U.K. album chart, and had eight singles, including the U.K. number one single New Rules and Be the One. I.D.G.A.F. Lipa's album, which has now been recognized as Platinum in several countries across the world, won her two Brit Awards (in the year of 2018) for British female single artist and British Breakthrough act. Dua Lipa was born the 22nd of August, 1995 in London in the UK to Kosovo Albanian Anesa Rexha, and Dukagjin Lipa. Dua Lipa is Bosnian origin through her mother's grandmother. Her family tree can be traced back to Peja, the Kosovo town of Peja. The two grandparents of Lipa were both historians. Her siblings include Rina and Gjin. Lipa began to learn how to play the guitar and sing from her dad Oda. Oda is the leader singer/guitarist for the Kosovan-rock band Oda. She was influenced by her father's music, which included his compositions as well as songs like David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa started singing around the age of five. At the age of nine years old, she began singing at the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa covered Beautiful by Christina Aguilera as well as If I'm Not You You by Alicia Keys on YouTube. Lipa signed her first record deal in 2014 with Warner Bros. Records. New Love was her debut single. New Love was released in August 2015.
